Florida Business Attorneys Craig I. Kelly and David Markarian Announce “Of-Counsel/Co-Counsel” Relationships Between Firms

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

West Palm Beach and Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. (May 25, 2020) – In order to expand their ability to offer “big law firm” service for all levels of clients without added expense, the Florida law firms of Kelley Kaplan & Eller and Markarian & Hayes are pleased to announce they have entered into an Of-Counsel/Co-Counsel relationship, which became effective on May 1, 2020.

This new relationship enables both firms to jointly serve clients along Florida’s southeast coast, with a geographic scope extending from Vero Beach to Miami-Dade. Each firm will maintain its separate identity while working together to provide first-class business law, bankruptcy, and related legal services.

Craig I. Kelley, Esq., the founder and managing partner of Kelley Kaplan & Eller, focuses on representing debtors and creditors in bankruptcy proceedings.  He also handles general business law matters, such as corporate and commercial litigation, business transactions, foreclosure matters and real estate closings. In addition to running his own firm since 2001, Mr. Kelley also serves as an adjunct professor of law at Palm Beach State College. He graduated from the University of Miami School of Law and has been a member of the Florida bar since 1988.

Florida native David Markarian, Esq., founded Markarian & Hayes after spending nearly a decade as a corporate officer with NextEra Energy/Florida Power & Light, a Fortune 200 company, and working as a litigator at the nationally known firm of Boies, Schiller & Flexner. Mr. Markarian, who also earned his law degree from the University of Miami, currently represents a variety of clients on business, regulatory, and governmental compliance matters, with a special emphasis on the energy and technology sectors.

Under their new Of-Counsel/Co-Counsel relationship, Mr. Kelley and Mr. Markarian’s firms will collaborate to serve clients in a number of reasons, including the following:

  • Bankruptcy & Asset Protection, including Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 13 cases.
  • Business & Corporate Law, including business formation and transactions, corporate counsel, regulatory compliance, and government policy advocacy.
  • Business Litigation, such as breach of contract, business torts, construction lawsuits, and partnership disputes.
  • Debt Management, i.e., advising clients on alternatives to bankruptcy.
  • Real Estate Foreclosures, i.e., representing property owners, lenders, and potential home buyers.
