Kelley Kaplan & Eller Senior Partner Craig Kelley Named 2017 Super Lawyer

SmushedCraig14

We are proud to announce that Craig Kelley, senior partner at Kelley Kaplan & Eller, is named a 2017 Super Lawyer! Less than 5 percent of attorneys in the state of Florida are represented on the list, designating Craig as a leading lawyer in both the state and the nation.

The Selection Process

Super Lawyers uses a four-step process to decide which attorneys will earn a spot on its coveted list. The first step is driven by peer recognition, where lawyers in each state are called upon to nominate fellow attorneys in their state who they believe represent the top-tier in their respective practice areas. These nominations are afforded a point value, with out-firm nominations carrying more weight than in-firm nominations. These nominees are then combined with other attorneys who the Super Lawyers research staff have recognized as having a high degree of professional competence.

During the second step, the nominees are evaluated in 12 different categories. These include the following areas:

  • Verdicts/Settlements
  • Transactions
  • Representative Clients
  • Experience
  • Honors/Awards
  • Special licenses/certifications
  • Position within the law firm
  • Bar and/or professional activity
  • Pro bono and community service
  • Scholarly lectures/writings
  • Education/employment background
  • Other outstanding achievements

Each lawyer is awarded a point-value based on their achievements in these categories. With more than 25 years of experience, an extensive educational background, a prominent role in the community, an array of honors, and a lengthy list of successful verdicts and settlements, Craig held qualifications in each category and thus was pushed through to step three.

The third step puts the list of nominees in front of a panel of peers in their respective practice areas. These panelists rate the attorneys on a scale of one to five, narrowing the list down to include only the top finalists. The list is narrowed even further during the fourth and final step, which involves candidates being grouped into four categories by firm size. Lawyers in each category who have accumulated the most points are then selected to appear on the published list.

At Kelley Kaplan & Eller, our team remains dedicated to achieving the best results for our clients, and Craig’s inclusion on the Super Lawyers further supports that commitment. If you have questions about a potential referral, please call our office today to speak with a member of our team.
